Zimbabwean President Robert Mugabe was removed as a goodwill ambassador on Sunday by the World Health Organisation WHO following outrage among Western donors and rights groups at his earlier
appointment. WHO Director-General Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus had named Mugabe to the largely ceremonial post at a meeting in Uruguay on chronic diseases last week Wednesday.
